Conversations with God – Sowing and Reaping (Galatians)

(This article may come across as offensive, but as with anything I believe came from God, use discernment and give me grace for hearing incorrectly. If you disagree with something I said, please be gentle in your comments. I’m in a humble position.)

Sowing to please the spirit vs sowing to please the flesh

What shall we look at tonight? There is a difficult verse that goes a man reaps what he sows. Is this on your mind?”

Yes, I would like to understand what you want to say about that.

We know a man is forgiven his sins, receiving his forgiveness is sowing to please the spirit. This verse saying the man who trusts in his flesh will from his flesh be disappointed.”

I just read the passage, that does not seem to be what he is saying. What do you want to say about it?

From the flesh come all corrupted things, fornication, jealousy, envy, drunkenness. The man who chooses to please his flesh will reap these things. The man who chooses to please his spirit will reap eternal life.”

So its not talking about punishment and curse, it’s simply stating the obvious, the flesh desires sinful things and if you try to please it you will end up doing sinful things. Is that so?

It is so. The flesh desires what is contrary to the spirit, and both are lead to do different things. What he is talking about is your doing. If you try to satisfy a dead man you will do things that are dead. If you seek to satisfy the spirit, your actions will be full of life. You explained it very well.”

Wow, thanks for clarifying. What else Lord?

What have you been sowing to recently?”

Sowing to please the spirit.

Do you feel fulfilled?”

Yes.

It is immensely satisfying to your nature. It produces joy, peace, love, gentleness, compassion… The fruit of the spirit is life.”
